Proper water management is essential for the continuing existence of Dutch society as well as other European countries which have borders with the sea or big rivers. Water management on occasion also means dealing with emergencies, thus preparing for emergency management is essential.

A big part of the Netherlands is situated below sea level. Due to this, water management organisations face big challenges. The Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Environment and the water management authorities are defined as the ‘water managers’. They ensure that there is sufficient water and that the country is protected against flooding. The counties and local authorities are also involved in water management, all these parties have a part in water emergencies and crises.

We help water management bodies with their emergency/crisis management tasks. With our Dutch experience in mind, we will be able to bring innovative yet tested solutions to European organisations as well.

Also we offer various customised training modules, including:
  • Training for crisis management teams within water management organisations
  • Role focused trainings for indivudual professionals within a crisis  management team
  • Masterclasses on crisis management, the position of water crises within national crisis management for water management organisations
  • Emergency management exercises
Within this sector collaboration with other crisis partners is vital. Therefore ISR approaches crisis management within the sector water management with a multidisciplinary approach.
